Free School Meals - Update

posted 1 Oct 2015, 06:47 by Web Admin

As we move forward with our new academic year we wanted to remind parents about the importance of Free School Meals for families within the borough.

To be eligible for free school meals you must be in receipt of one of the following:
          • Income Support
          • Job Seekers Allowance (Income Based)
          • State Pension Credit (Guaranteed Credit), or
          • Employment and Support Allowance (Income Related)
          • Support under part V1 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
          • Child Tax Credit and have an annual gross income as assessed by Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs which does not exceed £16,190.
Educational Benefits are currently carrying out a Borough wide 'Free School Meals take up campaign' of families who may be entitled to Free School Meals.  However, we are aware that some parents do not want to claim Free School Meals due to stigmas that go with this.  Please don’t hesitate to contact Hillsview to discuss the many benefit that go with claiming Free School Meals, this is a very confidential process and students are not singled out within school as being ‘Free School Meals students’.

For more information on the Free School Meal process please don’t hesitate to contact Mr P. Julian on Tel: 01642 454577 or via email on
