Meals fit for a professional footballer

posted 28 Jan 2016, 01:30 by Web Admin

On Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd January, our GCSE Food students visited Middlesbrough Football Club to work with their Catering and Nutrition Team.

The students took part in a 2 hour visit including workshops based on The Eatwell Plate, Healthy Eating linked to Sports Professionals and the students also had a guided tour of the stadium.
The students have now been challenged to create a 3 course meal fit for a professional footballer. Staff at MFC will select a winning dish from each group and the students will then go 'Head to Head' at the Academy Kitchens to cook and create the dishes.  The dishes will be judged by MFC staff and prizes will be awarded at the event.

We would like to thank the students of Hillsview who took part and were a real credit to the academy. We Would also like to say a huge thank you to the staff at MFC for their excellent input into the workshops which has really engaged our students in this challenge. Well done.
