We have received intelligence from the Police warning us about the use of social media.

There have been a number of approaches made through Facebook and other social media platforms from an adult male who goes by the false name of Mark Feely (sometimes M Feely). This individual is believed to have created up to 40 false social media accounts and has been attempting to contact children. The Police believe that this individual does not live in the Teesside region but have asked us to pass on their concerns with the following advice:
  • Parents should check their children’s social media accounts.
  • Check specifically for references or links to Mark Feely or M Feely.
  • Check for inappropriate or sexually explicit images.
If you find any contacts or images that are in appropriate or cause concern you should:
Keep the images/messages.
Contact the Police on 101 quoting the reference CVP-18-046387.
I understand that you may find this information alarming but I ask that you act upon the advice given by the Police so that we can keep all of our young people safe.
